Dr Sharon Alikhani was appointed Bermuda Hospitals Board’s Physician Lead for Hospice and Palliative Care in August 2008.  Working primarily out of Agape House Hospice, she is responsible for the care of all hospice inpatients and also provides palliative care for individuals in an outpatient setting, including the patients’ homes and nursing homes. 

Dr Sharon Alikhani qualified from St George's Hospital Medical School in 1993. She completed vocational training in General Practice and worked as a GP in inner city London practices before moving to Bermuda with her husband and children. She worked as a GP in Bermuda prior to embarking down the road of palliative care, attaining the Diploma in Palliative Care from University of Cardiff.  She is currently the only full time palliative care practitioner on the island.

She enjoys teaching and training and has spearheaded Difficult Conversations Training in Bermuda.
