Our SCARS® communication framework is an easy to use mnemonic to help professionals structure their conversations. We developed SCARS® specifically to help provide professionals with a structure to empower them when they find themselves in a difficult or sensitive conversation and to ensure crucial aspects of good communication are not missed.

SCARS® presents as an ‘aide memoire’ with each letter acting as a prompt to the suggested stages that a good conversation can follow.

Participants report our SCARS® framework to be extremely useful to help their confidence in having challenging conversations.
